Those in the know, the proverbial “THEY” say, you should updated your headshot every 2 years, and or if you change position, hairstyle, brand, grow or shave a beard, or have a dramatic change in appearance, be it in weight or aesthetics.
All I know is, it was a fun and happy time with the lovely Amelia taking her photos for updated website images.
Also, gone are the days of only having headshots in black and white and how wonderful to be able to share them electronically versus having to print them out.

Engagement photo sessions are one of my favourite and Josh and Mareli made it all more enjoyable. They are such a lovely couple. ♥

True to form when doing an outdoor session, the wind decides to blow, blow, blow! The day before there wasn’t even a breath of a breeze.

It’s so easy to photograph co-operative clients. Josh and Mareli were so easy to work with and were so accommodating to my requests. We enjoyed our time together with many laughs despite the wind and bright sun.
Wishing you both the happiest and most beautiful life together. ♥

I was really looking forward to meeting and working with the lovely Darné family after having to postpone their family photo session due to weather. Fast forward a couple of weeks and bam, mother-nature threw heavy winds our way anyway! No matter, we worked with it.

Wind and long hair aren’t the best of friends so it was quite the challenge to photograph sweet Bella and her younger sister Brooke without getting their hair over their faces; so nicely tucked in between mom and dad did the trick.
The sisters were so willing and enthusiastic to participate which makes all the difference for happy shots. All too often little ones don’t want to pose and have their photo taken.
Using the wall and stairs for protection from the wind was a welcome reprieve.
I look forward to working with this sweet family again, hopefully we will be able to book a windless day. ❤
It was wonderful to spend more time with the lovely Moore family and to meet sweet baby Caleb who could not be a more loved addition to this happy family. ❤
Caleb is so relaxed and chilled, which clearly runs in the family and his older siblings are such happy youngins which they obviously get from both their mommy and daddy. It’s so nice to see the connection between this young family, they are a shining example of what family is about.
Some shoots are more fun than others and the family/maternity shoot I did with the wonderful and happy Moore family certainly ranks top of the list of fun shoots.
I had such a great time taking these pics, I could easily have spent the whole day with them.
The love this family radiates is palpable – I can’t wait to meet the new edition who is due very soon. ❤
Until recently, due to COVID-19 lockdown regulations, we have been unable to visit one of our favourite places – the Addo Elephant National Park. We are thrilled to be able to enjoy drives through the park again.
Not all visits result in good sightings but some days prove to be better and more exciting than others – last weekend was one of those better days, despite the gale wind that blew relentlessly.

On the last weekend, before our lockdown started, we enjoyed a day on the beach down at the mouth and came across two fishermen on our walk. On passing, we chatted briefly and all they had been catching were ragged (ragga) tooth sharks.
They had just cast new bait and within one minute had something on the line. I’ve never known such quick luck before and they knew immediately it was another ragged tooth.
It takes patience and stamina to reel in a 120 kilogram fish!
It was great fun photographing the teamwork between the two fishermen ensuring they landed their catch. Even better was hearing how knowledgeable and respectful they are about fishing; tagging and releasing their catches for research and conservation purposes. They, however, drew the line when I suggested they kiss the shark before putting her back in the water. 🙂
